Renata Kubiak Has Died. "Our Beloved Heavenly Mother." Chorzów Movement in Mourning

"It is with great sadness that we inform you that Renata Kubiak has passed away today at the age of 67. Please look after the Heavenly affairs of SektoRa Niebo, Mrs. Renia. We will announce the date of the funeral as soon as it is known. We extend our condolences to the family and loved ones. The Ruch community has suffered a great loss. RIP," Ruch Chorzów said in an official statement.

As a reminder, on July 24th, Waszczuk announced on social media that Renata Kubiak needed urgent help. The Chorzów club legend was hospitalized at the time, fighting a difficult battle with cancer and also suffering a stroke. Despite raising nearly 60,000 złoty, her life could not be saved. Kubiak died on Saturday, July 26th.

Earlier, the former vice-president provided updates on the club legend's health. He also recalled a story from years ago that fully demonstrates Renata Kubiak's devotion to Chorzów and her love for the Blues.

"Because this is the Movement"

"When I received this life-changing gift of managing our beloved Ruch in 2019, when we were at a historic low, I learned about the many tragedies faced by people at Ruch. Many of these tragedies concerned the lives of our employees who had nothing to live on because they hadn't been paid for six or nine months! And many Ruch employees were going through terribly difficult times, but it was she—Ms. Renia and her husband, Andrzej—who both had no pay because they both worked at Ruch! They've already been working at Ruch for well over 30 years!!!" he emphasized.

"Did you know that over the past 30 years, Renia and Andrzej have been evicted from their apartments at least three times because they had unpaid rent? And if someone asks why they didn't find another job, I'll tell you the answer, because I asked Renia and Andrzej about it many times... - Renia, why didn't you find another job? - BECAUSE IT'S A MOVEMENT! - Renia replied! - Who will come here if they don't pay wages, who will take care of these boys' uniforms? Who will take care of them?" - we read.
